Trump’s trade policies are killing a Chinese fast fashion giant.

Shein was once the go-to brand for fashion influencers.

The Chinese clothing giant had a seemingly unstoppable business model: scrape TikTok and Instagram for trending styles, churn out clothing and accessories cheaply and quickly, blast them on social media, and sell them directly to American consumers.

At its post-pandemic peak in 2022, Shein was valued at nearly $100 billion.

This week, the company finally went public in Hong Kong.

It was valued at $26 billion.

That’s a nearly $74 billion reduction in value.

So what the hell happened?
