Grammy-Winning Rapper Learns His Fate In Bombshell Murder-For-Hire Trial
Grammy-winning rapper Lil Durk was acquitted on all charges Friday in a blockbuster federal murder-for-hire trial stemming from a deadly 2022 ambush in Los Angeles.

Federal prosecutors accused Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, of orchestrating and financing a plot to kill rival rapper Quando Rondo, whose real name is Tyquian Bowman. Prosecutors alleged the planned hit was retaliation for the 2020 killing of Durk’s close friend and fellow rapper King Von.

After long and tense court proceedings and three days of deliberations, the jury read their decision in court September 11.
“We the jury in the above-captioned case unanimously find Defendant Durk Banks not guilty of conspiracy to commit the use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire, as charged in Count 4 of the indictment,” according to court transcripts reviewed by the Daily Caller.
The alleged plot culminated in an August 2022 shooting near the Beverly Center in Los Angeles. Gunmen opened fire on Bowman’s vehicle, but Bowman survived. His 24-year-old cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, was struck and killed.

The jury continued to deliver its verdict.

Throughout the trial, Durk’s defense maintained that he had nothing to do with the alleged murder plot and argued that his former personal assistant, Kavon Grant, was responsible for setting it in motion.
Durk remains in federal custody as he faces a separate trial on racketeering, murder and firearms charges scheduled for October 5.
