TMZ reported Friday that Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism announced the indictment, stating that it stems from an investigation into two British men from the same family. The announcement included their ages, 39 and 38, and local media outlets reportedly identified the two men as the Tate brothers.

Andrew was reportedly indicted for trafficking minors, money laundering, sex with a minor, and witness tampering. Tristan is believed to have been indicted for complicity.

Prosecutors alleged the Tate brothers recruited victims by claiming they wanted to be in relationships with them, then forced them into making pornographic content used for their webcam business.

One of the alleged victims claimed Andrew took her to Romania from the United Kingdom when she was 15 years old and forced her to make content. She claimed that Tristan coerced her using physical aggression, according to TMZ.

The prosecution claimed the Tates collected more than $1 million for the content they allegedly made the underage victim produce, and went on to allege that they attempted to launder their profits through the purchase of four luxury vehicles, according to TMZ.

TMZ reported that the Tates are still in the United States, fighting extradition to the United Kingdom, but could potentially be tried in absentia in Romania if a judge signs off on the case. Eugen Vidineac, the attorney representing the Tate brothers in Romania, issued a statement saying, “We will examine every aspect of [the indictment] with the same level of scrutiny, and we will challenge any evidential, procedural or legal deficiencies through the appropriate judicial process,” according to TMZ.

Andrew Tate currently faces more than 50 counts in the United Kingdom, and Tristan reportedly faces approximately 20.
