Olivia Rodrigo Claims She’s Raising Funds To Help Women. The Truth Is So Much Darker
Pop star Olivia Rodrigo announced a new music festival featuring an all-female lineup, “Daisy Chain Fields,” on Monday.

The one-day festival is slated for Aug. 29 in Irvine, California. Featured artists include: Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan, Karen O, Mitski, Katseye, The Breeders, and Rodrigo herself.
Rodrigo wrote on Instagram that she has “had a dream of doing this festival for years” and is “so ecstatic its finally coming true!!”
Rodrigo continued, “100 percent of the net proceeds will go to charities dedicated to advancing and advocating for women and girls … i firmly believe that joy, community, and music can be the drivers of meaningful change and I’m hopeful this festival will be just that.” (RELATED: Olivia Rodrigo Says She Can Smell Stinky Fans Who Wear Diapers To Her Concerts)
The Daisy Chain Fields website lists its charitable nonprofit partners, which include Planned Parenthood, the Center for Reproductive Rights, and the National Institute for Reproductive Health (NIRH). The Center for Reproductive Rights defines “abortion care” as a “key part of women and girls’ fundamental human rights.” It’s darkly amusing to invoke “human rights” when discussing the termination of an infant’s life. NIRH says it is “fighting to pass laws in cities and states” to ensure women can get abortions.
Rodrigo’s fan base skews young. Redditors on the Rodrigo subreddit estimate she’s most popular among preteens, teens, and those in their early 20s, with a sprinkling of older fans (those over 30) in the mix. One concertgoer, writing for HOT 96.9 Boston, speculates the “average age of [Rodrigo’s] fan base is probably around 15[.]”
Rodrigo’s festival is also partnered with the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC), which encourages visitors to its website to “Support Abortion Access Legal Defense Fund.” That fund is dedicated to helping “people pay for certain legal expenses they are facing because they are Abortion Patients, Supporters, or Providers[.]”
Individuals who are on the hook for abortion-related legal expenses have obviously been accused of committing an abortion-related crime. One wonders exactly what sort of crimes were allegedly committed by the individuals benefiting from this fund. Consider the late Kermit Gosnell, an American abortionist convicted of running a “pill mill” and murdering three babies who had been born alive in his clinic. Gosnell reportedly killed the infants by severing their spines.
Would an abortionist like Gosnell be a good candidate for the NWLC’s fund? Gosnell indeed faced certain legal expenses because of his “involvement with abortion.”
Other bizarre festival sponsors include the Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA), the “nation’s premier Black Maternal Health organization ensuring that all Black mamas have the rights, respect, and resources to thrive before, during, and after pregnancy.” BMMA claims its work is “grounded in human rights, reproductive justice, and birth justice frameworks.”
BMMA seems most focused on hosting conferences and producing infographics, based on a quick look around its website.
Then, there’s the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, which thanked Rodrigo in a press release: “We are grateful—nitsaa’go baa ahééh nisin, díidí —to be included in this powerful gathering and to stand alongside organizations advancing the well-being of women and girls[.]”
The Center for Indigenous Health is “dedicated to promoting Indigenous health equity” and foresees a future of “[t]hriving Indigenous communities worldwide.” (RELATED: ‘Sparkly Bra’ And ‘Little Shorts’: Olivia Rodrigo Tries Playing The Victim, Makes Everything So Much Worse)
Advancing abortion access and race-based initiatives is something of a theme for Rodrigo, who launched her Fund 4 Good in 2024. A portion of the proceeds from her world tour ticket sales went to the fund, which partnered with “local chapters of the National Network of Abortion Funds to ensure those most impacted by systemic racism, misogyny, and healthcare barriers can get the reproductive care they deserve.” Rodrigo also provided free morning-after pills and condoms to Missouri concertgoers in 2024. Recall, again, that Rodrigo’s fanbase is largely made up of of young women and girls.
